Tah Dah!

I told Keyomi that I'd place a picture of me without my braces on the blog. Here it is. I took it myself, I didn't brush my hair, I am all dewey from the heat, and I am still learning how to smile all over again. But hey, not bad if I do say so myself...

NOTE: I do have to wear a few braces
on the bottom teeth for a week longer-
just until my retainers are ready.

I am so happy I can eat again, Pam.

Tonight, Mike got off work early to take me to my favorite restaurant. So sad to discover when we got there that they closed due to the recession. So we ended up having some yummy Mexican food at El Torito. Everything I had was smothered in cheese. I saw the nutritional content of what I ate- it's usually what I eat in a whole day. I don't care! I got to eat and I didn't have to dig any food out of my braces afterward. That felt SOOO GOOOD!!!

Lookin' good! You have such a pretty smile. I hope we see more of it. :)

My daughter will be needing braces soon. She has a few more teeth to come in before they go in, though. She's not looking forward to it, but she said the sooner, the better.

Thanks so much, Anna. You're a sweetie pie!

Please let your daughter know that braces weren't all that bad. I missed out on very little when it came to what types of food I could eat. And I was told that braces are much less painful than even just a few years ago. Mike was surprised that I hardly had any discomfort.

"Wonderful picture...and your hair looks great for someone who didn't primp before her photo session. Lovely!"

How I love these compliments!! I'll try not to let them go to my head. Thanks for being so kind, Serena.

Thanks, Karen. I did manage to inhale one of those sticks of Laffy Taffy after I got the braces off. I did miss chewing. I guess I was just swallowing food whole!
:)

Now, Keyomi, can you give me the compliments or what! I think after I get off the computer, I'll go smile in the mirror for a few minutes. I'm really happy with the results, and I'm smiling much more already.

Hi Elsie- it's so nice to hear from you again. Hope you've been well.

Thanks for the congrats. I'm one happy gal now that the braces are off. The final six brackets will be removed this Wednesday. I can't wait!!

Oh what a beautiful smile! You look mavalous. Now you will have to monitor yourself about eating taffy. I went crazy, piling in the junk I couldn't eat b4, but finally got a grip on myself. Very happy for you Bunny.

Thanks for the compliment on my smile, Karen. I think I look stiff, but now I'm more used to the way I look, my smile is becoming more natural.

Don't worry 'bout the taffy thing. I have to get my retainers today. I've had a week of blissful eating though- and it tasted oh so good!

"...what a wonderful smile."

Thank you so much Leni!!

I'm still trying to keep computer time to a minimum because of my arm. But this weekend, I am going to sit down and write you a long letter. It is long overdue and I've got so much to share with you.

Hope the reunion is going wonderfully. Because I've worked on your Noble family, I can really picture all of them there. Hope you'll fill me in on all the good stuff you've found.

I miss you so much, Leni. I think about you all the time. Hope you're feeling better. Keep an eye out for a long email this weekend from me. Love you too, Leni.

You look great, but then again, you always have. Braces were well worth it. Never wore them but wear retainers occasionally after all of my crown work. Be religious with the retainers; they will keep your smile beautiful.

Take care.

Wow, Tricia. I didn't realize that people wore retainers for other reasons.

Don't you worry at all about me not wearing my retainer. I spent way too much money on getting my teeth straight just to throw it all away.

P.S. BTW, I've seen your smile and you've really got a beautiful one.

You are so sweet to me!!!

Hey, come back more often. I'll try to do the same. I must admit that I don't blog as much as I used to. I just don't have the time. But I do like how I can keep in touch with everyone this way.
